Workshop Advancing Open Science through Citizen-Powered Vector Surveillance: Insights from Mosquito Alert, Blanes (Spain)

Co-organized by CEAB-CSIC and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), this meeting focused on the international expansion of the Mosquito Alert platform, which enables citizens to contribute to mosquito surveillance through smartphone-based observations. Participants shared experiences from different countries and explored how citizen-generated data can strengthen surveillance systems. Collaborative design-thinking sessions also contributed to the development of an Open Science Toolkit, supporting partners in adapting and implementing Mosquito Alert in their own regional contexts.
